Tech brands are discounting wireless audio hardware ahead of the holiday season. Nothing has cut the price of its Ear 3A earbuds to $79 across three major retailers.
The discount saves buyers $20 off the original price. The sale applies to all four available color variations. Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy are all honoring the reduced rate.
The price point ties the previous low for the product. Nothing released these earbuds as a budget option for consumers who want active noise cancellation without paying premium prices.
The Ear 3A feature a built-in equalizer that allows users to adjust sound profiles. John Higgins, a colleague at The Verge, noted that the default sound is bass-heavy but easy to modify. He described the level of customization as unusual for earbuds in this price range.
The active noise cancellation effectively reduces low-frequency sounds like airplane cabin noise and air conditioners. It does not fully block out human conversation. Testing revealed some software bugs, including abrupt changes in noise cancellation levels and occasional issues with voice calls in loud environments.
The earbuds include 32MB of internal storage. This space allows users to record up to two hours of phone calls. The company also includes a shortcut for accessing ChatGPT and provides extra-small ear tips in the package.
